I leave the Ronin for last on the basis that they seem to be the most powerful gang in the city. I feel like the middle arc is a good place to start turning up the brutality. And this is where things start to get really dark and you see how far the Boss is willing to go. Once the Saints defeat the Samedi and have a foothold in Stilwater, that's when I turn my attention to the Brotherhood. And I consider the Samedi storyline to be the lightest of the three the Saints don't actually lose anybody like they do in the other two storylines, nor is there the back-and-force cruelty that we see in the Brotherhood story. I play the first Brotherhood mission since Maero actually contacts you first, then switch to the Samedi and roleplay it as the Boss thinking "we aren't strong enough to take these guys on yet". Although I think narratively it should be: Brotherhood, Samedi, Ronin. Plus it's climax feels fitting to be at the end of the game, not the beginning. It's more personal, ties into the first game the most, and has the most emotional stakes. Ronin makes the most sense to be a third act. The overall story is better than the Samedi AND I want to delay Carlos' death. So, although I feel like this SHOULD go first.

His loss also adds extra stakes to Shaundi's kidnapping. And the loss of Carlos makes sense as a way for the Saints to toughen up and take themselves seriously narritve-wise. Maero treats you like a newbie which makes sense if you haven't taken anyone on yet. But I like to keep Carlos around as long as I can.īrotherhoodmakes most sense as a first set. Samedi seems to be the most throwaway of the questlines, and would probably work best as a second act.
